When I use to work weekends this use to be one of the feeds that would be fed into NY. It's very voyeuristic and the music is kind of entrancing sometimes.

Something that has been fascinating me for months is the attraction to these things called webkinz.
http://www.webkinz.com/
The kids have both an actual toy that they collect, almost like beanie babies, and they connect to a website and you adopt them, redecorate their environment, and the pet "relies on you" to take care of it. But, they never die.
I think it is interesting that it seems to keep kids interest. There are lots of activities etc, it is interesting. Also, you can involve other kids too so it is a social environment also.

This article summarized some basic concepts and vocabulary about Time-based Media, for example, the content types/formats of TBM, media stream, media presentation, etc.
And here you'll find some examples of TBM by students and alumni of Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.

This is really facinating to me. It's a web site that allows musicians to log in and jam with other musicians online in real time and record their jam session without any latency. Alot of people are starting internet bands with people all over the world, and jamming in real time. They will often perform their concerts in Second Life including the addition of an avatar but still performing live and sending the feed to Second Life.
www.ejamming.com is currently completely free while they are still in their beta stage so if you play and want to jam with an old friend out of state or in a different country, now is the time to check it out.

I was surfing on the Internet in one holiday afternoon...trying to figure out what would be a super fun topic for you guys based on my "time-based media" research.
How about the "audio+visual" performance?
I found video clips from singing Christmas trees to MIDI effects in Jameca..., and suddenly I remembered there was a clip had blown me away when watching it on Youtube several months ago.
It's called "the Reactable" and firstly introduced by Bjork on her concert early this year...so it shouldn't be too out-dated.
As the website opening says:
"The reactable is a collaborative electronic music instrument with a tabletop tangible multi-touch interface."

Interesting stuff taking place at MIT's media lab - our excursion reminded me of some of the media lab projects - there's a big video screen along the "infinite corridor" that shows all sorts of fun stuff they've been doing with video manipulation. Here, they use spacial imaging and have been working on "holographic video" projects. They also have an object-based media group here: http://obm.media.mit.edu/

I think this site is very interesting because it allows you to build and launch a internet tv channel, you can have own audience and communicate with them. It's interactive. Also you can make money by video ads.
Another site that i found it is very interesting and helpful. You can find many projects about time based media from professionals. it is a good source.

Several months ago in my DirecTV lineup I happened to land on a TV station called "Current". Its programming is almost entirely viewer contributed short video clips.
It really was a novelty as far as programming, and yet it does fall into the whole YouTube viewer style.

I did a little more research on it and its origins were somewhat surprising. According to Wikipedia (not always 100% reliable, true), it was started by Al Gore. The Users are "VC 2 producers" and the content is aired by voting of "registered" Current users. The wiki entry is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INdTV
Current describes itself in this way: "Current is a global television network that gives you the opportunity to create and influence what airs on TV "
Check it out online and also look through your Cable / Satellite TV channel listings. It's probably up in the nether-channels near IFC and the other unique broadcast stations.
I think this applies to Time Based Media for the obvious reason - it is contributed as it happens and on the schedule of the viewer, not the station. It also covers the range of topics and multiple formats that appeal to all distribution outlets.
